Prepare for Storm Amy now, say authorities

Civil defence volunteers are advising people to prepare for the year's first storm while there's time.

Storm Amy is expected to hit the Island later tomorrow afternoon, with severe gales and heavy rain.

On Facebook, Civil Defence says you should clear leaves from drains to help reduce flood risk, and tie down garden furniture - including trampolines!

The organisation says it also has stocks of sandbags at its headquarters in Tromode.
