According to Castletown Town Commissioners, young people between primary school age and around their 20s have been seen in the skatepark which is already closed off.
The authority says it's sorry the actions of a small minority will affect the majority of users and the measures will come into effect 'as soon as practicable'.
Officials add they remain in regular talks with Police and hope everyone can work together to make sure no other rules have to be brought in to discourage social gatherings in public spaces.
