Manx Utilities says its lines have been very busy after "a potential burst" in Douglas.
The properties affected are reported to be in Cronk Y Berry/Glen Park, Governors Hill and Williston.
Manx Utilities said engineers are investigating and updates will be provided as soon as possible.
A company spokesman added: "Our lines are very busy and we apologise if you cannot get through".
