Douglas Quay could get a new wine bar if planning permission is granted to convert a former sweet shop.
Heron and Brearley has submitted a change of use planning application for Number 1 Quine's Corner.
It wants permission to extend the neighbouring Bridge Inn into the 40-square-metre unit and turn it into a bar and off-licence.
Two previous applications have been unsuccessful - although this time the conservation officer says he has no objections to the plans.
The application was submitted at the start of this month and is pending consideration.
