Police say they've disrupted an organised crime group selling heroin on the Island after one of its leaders was sent to prison for 11 years.
Earlier today, 47 year old Shaun Robert Milligan was jailed after admitting possessing heroin with intent to supply it and being concerned in its production.
Officers say operation Bobcat investigated him last July - and seized 277 grams of the class A drug.
Detective Inspector Jamie Tomlinson of the Serious & Organised Crime Unit says Milligan had been involved in dealing drugs for more than 26 years and was a prominent figure in the local drug scene.
Welcoming the sentence, he added police believe he sourced the drugs from a Merseyside-based gang.
