Police are urging people to be vigilant online, following a scam which nearly conned a couple.
The duo had posted online looking for somewhere to rent locally.
They were then contacted by someone offering a rental, but asking for a large deposit up-front.
Police say the couple realised something wasn't right - as the person had copied and pasted details from a genuine home for sale on the Island.
Officers add it can be 'so easy' to fall foul of scams - especially online, people are urged to report any scams to the Office of Cyber Security and Information Assurance (OCSIA).
