Police are warning of a 'sextortion' scam targeting Island residents.
Officers say it's a form of blackmail in which sexual information or images are used to extort sexual favours or money from the victim.
In a post on social media, officers say the issue is becoming more prevalent - with someone being targeted twice by the same person.
The constabulary says it's often by sophisticated criminal networks operating out of business-like lcoations, like call centres.
In this particular case the blackmailer has told the victim they have recorded them looking at pornography, and have video footage of them perfoming a sex act - and will send it if they don't pay up.
Police say if you've been targeted to cut all contact, report the matter straight away, and to never pay the money which is being demanded.
