Police are warning drivers of modified cars to consider their actions.
It comes following reports of late night loitering and revving engines.
As a result, residents in Douglas - particularly near Chester street car park and South Quay have complained.
Officer add the 'behaviour of a minority of these drivers has caused distress and upset over a long period of time.'
Modified car groups have been contacted and asked to warn members against this behaviour, or enforcement will be stepped up.
Two drivers are currently subject of the prosecution process for excessively loud/modified exhaust systems and other offences.
