Police are now urging people who are still at work to stay put as they deal with severe flooding around the Island.
Peel Road, one of the main arterial routes out of Douglas, is now closed at Pulrose Bridge because it’s no longer passable.
Among the places badly hit are lower Laxey which has been closed off and the Mountain Road which has been closed due to a landslide.
Officers are pleading with people not to travel and to stay indoors until further notice – they're also asking cyclists and walkers to also note the same advice.
They say the situation is constantly changing but they do not want people to “take a chance and get stuck”.
