Parents will be given advice on how to help their children stay safe online later this week.
An internet safety presentation is being held at Ballakermeen High School in Douglas to discuss the risks posed with social networking and chatrooms.
It's being organised by the school, the police and Manx Telecom.
Police say parents feel they don't have enough technical expertise to manage internet access and will explain how to combat this.
The presentation will take place on October 23rd at 6.15pm. A similar initiative will be run at QEII next month.
