Campaign Launched By Manx Police Force Supported by 3FM
A week long campaign is being launched today to crack down on people who use their phone behind the wheel.
The Manx Police force are working alongside 3FM to make drivers know the dangers of driving and using a phone.
'Kill your call – not someone else’ is the message.
You may have heard the hart hitting adverts running on 3FM. Police want these to remind drivers of the consequences of not being fully focused on the road.
Police will be out and about across the island this next week to crack down on dangerous drivers and they also want people to call the police if they see anybody using a phone while driving.
Anybody caught could face a court appearance and a hefty fine.
Inspector Mark Britton from the Road policing Unit says that even using a hands free kit has to be unacceptable on the Island. (audio above).
