Police target teenagers with new road safety message

Teenagers on the Isle of Man are being shown the "true cost" of fatal road traffic collisions in a bid to make them take extra care when they start driving.

Last week police unveiled a new road safety video made in conjunction with the family of a 28-year-old man who was killed after a crash in Union Mills in 2007. 

34 people have died on the Island's roads in the last five years - Detective Constable Mike Crompton says they want to target students at the age they start learning to drive: 

These Year 10 pupils are from St Ninian's High School - they say the video has made them think twice about potential dangers:
