Police request locals drink and act responsibly throughout TT

Anyone committing acts of anti-social behaviour will be held over night and sent to court the following day

The Police are asking for sensible drinking throughout the TT period, warning that there are severe penalties in place for those caught acting irresponsibly.

They will be having an increased Police presence on the streets for the remainder of the TT festivities; they also have to find extra cell space to cope with an influx of troublemakers.

Inspector Phil Shimmin told 3FM that the TT fortnight is traditionally the busiest time of the year for the Manx Constabulary, with a number of alcohol related incidents and road offences to keep on top of.

He said previous statistics have shown that the bulk of arrests have been local people.

Revellers are warned that anyone detained for anti-social behaviour will be kept overnight and put through court the next day.
