Police are urging those out walking late at night to 'be safe and be seen'.
It follows a man being hit by a car a on Saturday night while walking home alone.
Emergency services were called to the incident near Glen Lough campsite in Glen Vine and found the man had sustained serious injuries.
As a result, officers are urging the public to be vigilant when walking in the dark.
