The number of crimes tied to domestic incidents rose by nearly 17 percent over the past year.
According to figures from the chief constable's annual report, the amount of crimes rose from 203 to 237.
However, there were fewer offences recorded under the Domestic Abuse Act - those fell from 68 to 43 over the same period.
Police say the introduction of Domestic Abuse Risk Assessments in January has increased their ability to stop domestic crime.
