Police are reassuring the public the Island remains a 'safe place.'
It follows the circulation of a Facebook post warning those living in Peel that people had been walking into houses.
Officers say they have responded to a few instances and are looking into one incident of a person walking into a property.
While officers have described the post as 'well-meaning' they say it's caused some alarm in the community - and want to reassure the public the Island is safe.
They add to make sure doors are locked and possessions secure to prevent opportunist crime.
