Police say they are aware of posts circulating online referring to groups attempting to recruit young people to their drugs gangs on the Island.
They are urging all social media users to be mindful of links shared or groups joined, and ask parents to make sure they are monitoring their children's social media activity.
The post alleged that a group named The Gasoline Team are operating via snapchat and telegram, describing them as a violent gang offering payments to recruit 'runners'.
Although they didn't comment to support or deny this post, the police ask anyone concerned by social media postings to report them to the relevant platform and make contact with them if they have any further concerns.
