Police Warn Public Not to Give Bank Details Out to Cold Callers
The Police have issued a warning in light of yet another phone scam doing the rounds.
A local resident reported that they were contacted by someone claiming to represent a large UK based company, offering up the chance to sign up for a joint landline and mobile phone package.
The alarm was raised when the resident was asked to provide his bank details over the phone.
The Police have reminded the public to be extremely cautious when dealing with unsolicited telephone sales persons.
They’re also reminding people to never disclose financial information during a cold call phone conversation, and to report any such incidents to the Police.
