The Island's police have issued advice on limiting opportunities for thieves following Christmas.
It comes as the force has historically seen an increase in burglaries over the winter months when it gets darker earlier and homes are filled with gifts.
It's recommended to close and lock all doors and windows when going out, leave a radio or light on a timer to make the house look occupied, and store high value items in a secure place.
You're also encouraged to keep any ladders and tools stored away so they can't be used to break into your home, and keep car keys away from doors and windows.
