Next week will see the retirement of one of the police service’s most respected and successful individuals.
After nine years in the force, Rosco the dog will officially retire from duty on Friday.
The German shepherd joined the Isle of Man Constabulary in 2003 having been passed as top dog on his initial general dog course the same year.
In the years since, he’s had many operational deployments and assisted in the arrest of numerous persons for offences ranging from burglary to public order breaches.
He has located many vulnerable people, reported as missing from home and attended the majority of island schools to assist handler PC Ray Brondon with educational visits.
Rosco will be remaining with PC Brondon in his retirement as a pet.
