Police say growing problems with drunkenness and disorder led to officers objecting to Castletown Festival's evening event this year.
Last week, the event called off its evening gigs after advice from the police - and the committee claimed the Constabulary had effectively shut down that part of the annual event.
However, officers have posted to Facebook, revealing they've made a growing number of arrests over the years for assault, drunkenness, criminal damage, and Public Order offences - including an attack on an officer who suffered grievous bodily harm.
Police say the anti-social behaviour means the festival is the most heavily-policed event outside TT.
In its statement, the Constabulary says it wants a well-run, safe Festival in Castletown and looks forward to working with organisers.
