Police are planning to crackdown on motorists speeding through Ballasalla.
Officers say, after hearing from residents and commissioners, there are issues with drivers breaching the 20mph restriction through the village.
Authorities confirmed one motorist yesterday was apprehended for doing over double the speed limit there, and believe 'only a small proportion' of vehicles on the stretch are actually sticking to the rules.
As a result, the constabulary says it will now begin speed enforcement in the area and is asking people to tell friends and family to stick to the rules rather than them receiving a ticket or court appearance.
