The constabulary has launched a new campaign reminding cyclists that ‘Pavements are for Pedestrians’.
Operating under that banner the campaign is looking to flag up the dangers posed to pedestrians by irresponsible cyclists.
A recent open forum between the public and the police revealed a number of people were concerned about what they branded inconsiderate cyclists.
Anyone found to be contravening the new rules will be stopped and spoken to by the police.
