Police stopped over 20 vehicles for lighting and tyre defects in the space of just a few hours on Monday morning.
It's as the Constabulary kicked off its annual Winter Lights Operation this week.
The Roads Policing Unit says as the wintry weather fast approaches, now is the time to check brake lights, headlights and tyres.
The team will be out in force with officers from Customs & Excise as well as vehicle examiners during the operation.
