The Police have addressed the fact that there have already been a large number of serious road traffic collisions, so far resulting in three fatalities.
They are urging riders, both visiting and local to ride and drive responsibly, in an effort to stamp out these tragic incidents.
The appeal is asking those to travel at the right speed for the road conditions and most importantly for motorcyclists to ride within their own ability.
So far two of the RTC’s have occurred in the early morning with riders opting to take advantage of the quieter roads.
As a consequence a higher level of officers on patrol will be out from the early morning, targeting irresponsible riding and enforcing the speed limits.
