The Southern Neighbourhood Policing team are asking members of the public for information regarding a large oil theft which occurred earlier in the month.
It took place over the weekend beginning Friday 9th March, with the oil taken from the Billown Quarry.
It's believed a large vehicle, or a smaller vehicle on multiple trips would have been used to secure the oil.
The oil has been designed specifically for commercial boiler systems and is not suitable for use in household heating systems.
Anyone unwittingly using it for this purpose could cause long lasting damage to your heating system, as well as a significant cost to remedy the fault caused.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Castletown Police Station.
