Plenty on the Tynwald agenda

Tynwald sits later this morning for the last time until October, with Douglas Promenade, Island crime rates and ferry services on the agenda.

Members have 26 questions for oral answer and another 25 for written reply, covering topics such as nursing homes, dental services and the minimum wage.

Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer will present a national infrastructure strategy as well as a report on the future of ferries.

He'll also ask the court to spend £20.7 million refurbishing the entire length of Douglas Promenade.

After questions have been heard, there'll be seven statements from ministers on issues including planning policy, nursing and residential home funding, and pension freedoms.

Social Care Minister Kate Beecroft wants members' backing to spend £5 million on a new day services centre in Braddan.

Meanwhile, Treasury Minister Alf Cannan will ask for an extra £7.25 million for a variety of capital projects over the past year.

The court sits at 10.30am.
