The Infrastructure Minister says a loss of parking is necessary to carry out reconstruction work on Douglas promenade.
In the House of Keys yesterday Onchan MHK Rob Callister asked Ray Harmer about parking lost during a £20 million revamp of the road.
Mr Harmer said losing some parking is unavoidable, and there are other places in the town centre, such as multi-storey car parks, the public can use.
He says other parking spaces are under-used and would more than make up for the lost spaces on Loch Promenade.
