A plea has gone out to anyone experiencing the symptoms of the Norovirus to stay at home.
Health bosses are concerned that a number of people have turned up to Noble’s Hospital displaying the symptoms of the bug in the last week.
The Norovirus, which causes sickness and diarrhoea, is highly contagious and can spread rapidly especially in hospitals, residential homes and schools.
It’s usually a 48 hour illness – anyone who gets it is asked to stay at home, drink plenty of fluids and practice good hygiene.
Director of public health, Dr Kishore, has this advice for those people who need further help:
