People experiencing the symptoms of the Norovirus have been urged to stay at home.
Noble’s Hospital says over the last few days several patients have turned up at A and E with sickness and diarrhoea.
In most of these cases the people did not need to be seen by hospital staff.
The Public Health Directorate says the Norovirus is highly infectious and has caused major outbreaks in other hospitals which have led to ward closures.
Therefore anyone who believes they need medical attention should contact their GP or the MEDS service over the phone.
