Legislation on dog breeding will be updated in the near future.
That's according to the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture, following the response to a consultation on the welfare code for dogs.
A number of people made comments around breeding, and wanted information adding about buying a puppy.
The department says there is already legislation in place for breeders that need to be registered, but there are plans to update this.
