There are plans to expand Peel Cemetery with new land which could fit thousands of new burial plots.
Cathedral Isle of Man says it’s essential to acquire new land, as otherwise the graveyard would run out of space in a decade.
It points out unlike the UK, the Isle of Man sells its burial plots for eternity - with each holding around two to three burials
The neighbouring field which the cathedral’s looking at buying is half the size of the existing cemetery, which it claims would triple its capacity.
