Plans to replace street lamps in an Onchan estate have been postponed following concerns from residents.
The Commissioners have been looking at replacing Manor Park's ornamental iron lamps with around half as many modern steel ones.
They say the current lampposts often fail in strong winds and are no longer fit for purpose - but some residents said the new ones would look out of character and be too tall.
The local authority's now considering increasing the scheme's budget by around £20,000 to purchase more attractive replacements, or continue with the original idea.
