Proposed changes to a railway bridge in Santon will make the route safer for motorists, according to the Department of Infrastructure.
The DOI has applied for permission to improve the Santon Bridge on the New Castletown Road near Santon Station.
It says the proposed work would strengthen the bridge by building a new wider deck as well as building up the wall height and footpath width.
A similar proposal was refused last year because the plans didn't take into account the bridge's historical significance.
