A charity wants to install a landmark in Castletown to commemorate a former World War Two military base.
Castletown Heritage is looking for permission to install a blue plaque on one of the gate posts at the entrance of the Janets Corner Estate which used to be the location for the HMS Urley base.
The organisation behind the application says the plaque would be similar in design to the one based on Queen Street which is in memory of the 40 men on the street who served during World War One.
The plans are now subject to approval.
