Plans for a new shop in Port Erin look set to be turned down after a planning officer recommended an application is refused.
JM Project Management of Glen Vine has applied for planning permission to turn the former Flower Pot and funeral directors premises on Station road into a new Co-op store with tourist flats above it.
However, in a report due before the planning committee, a planning officer says the design doesn't fit with the area, and retail developments out of town could threaten the town centre.
The planning committee is due to meet this Monday, September 15, to decide the application.
