It’s been confirmed that the Pizza Hut heading for the Island will only be a takeaway outlet and not a full restaurant.
The admission has sparked a big reaction on social networking sites with many people unhappy and complaining that the takeaway market is already saturated.
In a post on the Pizza Hut Douglas Facebook page the people behind the project say whilst they would have ‘dearly loved’ to open a full restaurant it is simply not an option.
They say they have been trying for 10 years to bring the brand to the Island, and agree a deal with head office, but a takeaway and delivery service - with a sit in area - is the only way they can do it.
The company says it’s sorry that the plans don’t meet everyone’s expectations but say the project will see massive investment in the capital and be positive for the economy.
