The interval between doses of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine is going to be extended.
The gap between the first and second jabs is being widened from three weeks to a maximum of ten weeks - this will apply to anyone whose second dose hasn’t yet been booked and future appointments.
It won’t affect anyone who has their second jab already booked and these will go ahead as normal.
Government says the change has been made in light of increasing evidence in support of extending intervals for both vaccines, for a wider short-term public health impact and after consideration of the Island’s needs.
Intervals for the Oxford-AstraZeneca jab were extended to up to ten weeks back in February.
