Port Erin Commissioners says a petition's claims which stated it was planning to banning dogs from the beach were false.
The online campaign gathered nearly 500 signatures against the idea of a ban - however, local authority members confirmed no commissioner had planned to put forward a motion about the issue.
Chair Hannah Mackenzie said the petition was ‘nonsense’.
She added the consultation of the current set of byelaws - which bans dogs between 10am and 7pm - was ‘well received’ and between 300 and 500 people responded to it.
