Peta Cavendish says her family has been left "heartbroken" after being robbed of "security and dignity".
The Cavendish family were threatened at knifepoint by four armed men while Mark was "violently attacked" in the burglary at their home on 27 November.
The Manx cyclist was suffering from two broken ribs and a collapsed lung sustained in a crash on 21 November.
Essex Police said none of the family sustained serious injuries but were "incredibly shaken" by the incident.
Peta Cavendish said the nightmare has robbed the family of their "sense of security, safety, privacy and dignity" and is appealing for anyone with information to contact Essex police.
