A person was flown to Liverpool for hospital treatment after suffering a cardiac arrest during yesterday’s TT qualifying session.
Race officials say the non-racing medical emergency was declared in Glen Vine, a short distance from the course.
Both the Isle of Man Ambulance Service and Great North Air Ambulance Service provided ‘life-saving intervention.’
An Isle of Man TT Races spokesperson says: “This tri-lateral cooperation, coordinated from a remote location and undertaken without disrupting an active qualifying session, was a first for the three services and was only possible thanks to the expertise and rigorous training of everyone involved, and is testament to the world-class care delivered as part of the Isle of Man TT Races.”
