People Using Legal Highs in Pubs Will be Banned
Steps have been taken to give pub and nightclub licensees the right to eject people on their premises in possession of legal highs.
The new zero tolerance policy came about following a meeting of representatives of the Manx Entertainment and Nightclub Association.
It was agreed that the issue of legal highs is a problem escalating fast, herbal ecstasy and mephedrone have seen a surge in popularity lately, with the effects often leading to anti-social behaviour.
The ban has been introduced in an effort to ensure the establishments are safe and well run.
Information has also been handed out to school children across the Island in an effort to deter them from using these natural highs from an early age.
