Pensions delayed due to 'unknown issue'

People expecting to pick up pension payments today for next week won't be able to do so.

According to government  - due to an unknown issue, Pensions and Income Support payments aren't currently available at Post Offices, however BACS payments are unaffected.

It's affecting payments due on Christmas day, which were meant to available a week early due to the festive season.

Treasury says its investigating and working to fix the problem.

Those in urgent need of support are being asked to contact the pensions team directly on 685176 or 687020.
