Two visitors were rescued by Peel RNLI last night after showing signs of hypothermia.
Crews say they were swimming in Peel Bay, and although they were only in the water for about 25 minutes, their bodies were feeling ‘the bitter effects of the cold water.’
The IOM Ambulance Service was also called and they were checked over for 45 minutes until they warmed up and were given the clear to return to their campsite.
The alarm was raised by their friend who was watching from the beach, with Launch Authority Stuart Blackley commending their quick thinking.
