Samuel Christopher Baxter of Beary Close appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse via a live video link from police headquarters.
The 19 year old pleaded not guilty to assaulting the woman at her address on Derby Road in Douglas on May 31.
Mrs Hughes bailed him in the sum of £500 on condition he doesn’t enter his former partner’s building, doesn’t contact her and lives at his home address in Peel.
He’ll appear in court again for a pre-trial review on July 28.
