Three chip shops in Peel are now using a new range of plant-based products to encourage businesses to reduce plastic waste.
The Cod and Castle; Peel Fisheries Chippy and Quayside Fish and Chip Shop are now all using compostable coffee cups, cutlery, trays and burger boxes supplied by MannVend.
Owner of the establishments, Dave Matthews, says running the businesses in an environmentally friendly way is something they've always felt strongly about and the packaging is better for the planet and their food.
Environment, Food & Agriculture Minister, Geoffrey Boot MHK, says he's 'delighted' to see organisations making efforts to cut down on plastic refuse and added he's confident that by companies making decisions like these will set an example to other organisations.
