Peel commissioners have two years to come up with detailed plans for a bowling alley, clubhouse and café after winning an appeal.
The local authority had been refused permission for the facilities on the Marine Parade tennis courts, but lodged an appeal.
Now, the development has been approved in principle, but details of the designs and materials will have to be submitted.
Documents submitted by Peel Commissioners say the indoor community facility would include "a club
room, function room and potential indoor bowling lanes".
A condition imposed by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says the permission will expire if those details aren't lodged within two years.
