'Park considerately in Ramsey this Christmas'

Anyone out doing there Christmas shopping in Ramsey is being asked to park responsibly over the festive season.

That's the plea from Chair of Ramsey Town Commissioners, Andy Cowie, during the final important trading days before Christmas Day.

He says whilst it's great to see the town thriving at this time of year and people supporting local retail, this can have an impact on the parking facilities available for visitors and shoppers.

Mr Cowie adds: "As we come into the final shopping days before Christmas we want to ask that residents, business owners and shoppers use our parking facilities within the town considerately to make life easier for our visitors and shoppers.

"Recent retail surveys have identified that visiting drivers’ overriding concern is ‘location’, in other words, proximity of a car park to the location which represents the purpose of their trip.

"Their preference is a car park close to their destination where they can drive in and easily find a space. Blocking key town-centre parking locations will detract from our visitor’s experience with a subsequent impact on our town."
