Aptly the organisers are endeavouring to attract 2,011 entrants this year, if they were to achieve this figure it would set a new competitor record.
It’s been identified that each year the popularity of the walk grows by 10%, last year records were broken with 1,720 competitors.
Last year attracted major attention as those taking part had to battle against intense heat and sunshine, with many regular finishers failing to go the whole way.
Olympian Roger Black has already confirmed he will be taking part this year, having started the race in 2010.
