With the Paralympic Games officially getting underway today it’s hoped the extensive TV coverage will inspire people with disabilities on the Island to take up a new sport.
In particular the Wheelchair Sports Club is hoping it will gain more competitors for its basketball and rugby clubs as it head into its new season.
It’s an all inclusive club and also caters for able bodied players who may want to take part.
Zoe Carney, who is disability sports development officer, said there are a lot of people on the Island who would stand to benefit greatly by coming down to the weekly sessions:
